Alex O’Rion started his new career on Black Hole with the ‘Green Room’ and ‘Blue Room EPs’ as the prelude to his debut artist album in 2011, entitled ‘The Bigger Room’. The album project was a massive marker in Alex’s career path and put out a clear signal that he was at the forefront of the wave of nu-breed producers and a name to be recognised on a global scale.
Alex’s back-catalogue includes hits such as ‘Tornado’, ‘Don’t Look Back’, ‘Show Me The Way’, ‘Smile’ and ‘Eva’, which garnered playlist support from legends like Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond and Paul van Dyk. Above & Beyond’s support includes backing several Alex O’Rion productions on Group Therapy Radio including ‘Seven Meals A Day’, ‘Koi Koi’ and ‘Eva’ and the honours of a 30 minute guest mix spot. Most recently, he curated the ‘From the Record Bag: Amsterdam’ compilation on Nueva Recordings.
2016 has seen Alex has experiment further with this love of tech beats, with his EP projects ‘Sneaky Spider’ and ‘Dark Creatures’. Alex O’Rion truly demonstrates his ability to create a diverse range of soundscapes, with tracks ‘When Gods Go to War’, ‘Gently Please’, ‘Sneaky Spider’, ‘I Am Pig’ and ‘On Our Way to School’ showing off a deeper, darker side which has always been present in his sets and guest mixes.
As remixer Alex has had the chance to rework iconic tracks like Ferry Corsten feat. Betsie Larkin ‘Stars’ and Cosmic Gate & Arnej ‘Sometimes They Come Back For More’ to huge critical acclaim.
The rise of Alex’s name as an in-demand producer has also seen his DJ career taking off with performances all over Europe and beyond. His versatility behind the decks has seen him support Richard Durand on his ‘In Search Of Sunrise’ world tour, and perform on legendary stages such as Nature One Festival in Germany, Trancefusion in Czech Republic, Ultra Music Festival in Russia, Ministry Of Sound and Lush in the UK, Fabric in Ostrava, Es Paradis in Ibiza and Ultra Sonic Festival in Holland.
Expect to see Alex O’Rion making further waves in global club land as we progress throughout 2017, and you can catch his sounds on the monthly ‘Bigger Room’ radio show which showcases both cooler tech and electro edged tracks as well as the progressive and trance sounds that Alex has built his reputation on.
